What You Need to Know About the Proposed Route 29 Western Bypass

It WILL:

  • Substantially increase the risk to our public water supply at the South Fork Rivanna Reservoir
  • Significantly impact several local schools
  • STAB Lower and Middle Schools
  • Albemarle High School
  • Jack Jouett Middle School
  • Agnor-Hurt Elementary School
  • Greer Elementary School
  • Ivy Creek School
  • Impact over 1,500 homes with air and noise pollution and with access problems
  • Take 15 acres of school property at the AHS/Jouett/Greer/Ivy Creek complex
  • Take over 40 residences
  • Go through or beside 9 established neighborhoods
  • Cost an estimated quarter of a billion dollars
  • Take limited transportation funds AWAY from projects that our community has already vetted and approved
  • It WILL NOT:

  • Solve traffic congestion on Route 29 North
  • If You Cannot Attend These Meetings
