Wednesday, December 14th, at 6pm Lane Auditorium, McIntire Rd County Office Building
The Board of Supervisors will consider rezoning of Redfields Phase 5.
Despite plummeting home values and local property tax revenues, big developers want the Board of Supervisors to move a large portion of old growth forest in the rural area in to the growth area, despite the fact that the Planning Commission and County staff recently recommended against ANY growth area expansions.
This rezoning was originally recommended for denial because the use proposed is not in compliance with the Comprehensive Plan land-use designation: http://www.albemarle.org/upload/images/forms_center/departments/community_development/forms/PC_Reports/ZMA10-17_September_27_Staff_Rept.pdf

Residents of Redfields were promised that the piece of land in question would forever remain open space for them and their children to enjoy.
Please show up at the BOS meeting this Wednesday to send a message to the Board that developers need to follow the rules like everyone else — and that going back on your word isn’t an Albemarle County value.
